Askimet (for "automatic kismet") is a service that bloggers can use to prevent spam comments. The Web service "scans" comments before they are accepted and checks them against a list of rules that Askimet keeps in order to identify a post as spam. Askimet also takes information in from your blogs so that it can continue to learn and improve its spam-finding algorithms.
This version of Askimet is a variation of the original Web service, made specifically for Java apps.
